Susan Moore, Labour candidate in the Hayes & Coney Hall by-election, thanks voters for their support

Residents of the Hayes & Coney Hall ward went to the polls on Thursday 7th December to select a new councillor, following the sad death of Cllr Andrew Lee in early October.

Susan Moore, who lives in the ward, was selected as Labour’s candidate for the election and after an energetic campaign in which Susan and her team spoke to thousands of voters on the doorstep, Labour placed second in the poll.

Labour’s vote share in the ward increased by 4% versus the 2022 result in which all three seats in the ward were last contested.

Susan told the MyLondon website:

“I’m delighted that we spoke to thousands of people on the doorstep in Hayes & Coney Hall and got such a warm reception. I’m so grateful to all 962 voters who came out to vote for me on a cold, wet December day — thank you all — and I wish Cllr Coldspring-White all the best in his new role.”
The final results were as follows:

Susan Moore – Labour: 962 votes
Josh Coldspring-White – Conservatives: 1,541 votes (elected)
Tudor Griffiths – Liberal Democrats: 526 votes
Sarah Louise Chant – Green Party: 183 votes

The turnout was 26.7%.
