Dermot is a retired housing lawyer. In his last job he was employed as a duty adviser to work at local county courts including Bromley to provide advice and advocacy for tenants and home owners facing eviction. He is interested in the reform of the housing market to help all tenants and leaseholders. He writes about these issues at his blog( getcommonholddone.co.uk) He campaigns for Bromley council to take action to bring empty properties into use while at the same time rehousing so many homeless families as far way as Canterbury. He enjoys playing golf and walking his border terrier puppy in Beckenham Place park

Helen Brookfield has enjoyed living in Beckenham for over twenty years, working locally in the public and voluntary sectors. Her two children attended Worsley Bridge School. Working in housing, education and volunteering, she has developed a strong commitment to ensuring Bromley provides good quality services and improves the local environment. Helen is an advocate for accessible and affordable local services and amenities.

In his work, he focuses regularly on climate matters and he is committed to protecting and maintaining our green spaces, accelerating Bromley’s reduction in carbon emissions, and supporting local residents who want to act collectively and individually on environmental issues.
